Is Your Business Stuck?

As a junk removal business owner, it’s easy to feel stuck or stagnant. Recently, I saw a conversation in a junk removal group that illustrates this perfectly. One successful business owner shared his results with Google Ads, reporting a strong return on investment for the month. He has two locations and is doing very well.

The first comment on his post really stood out: “I would never spend $2,000 on Google Ads.”

This is a classic example of how fear can limit business growth. If your first reaction to someone sharing a successful strategy is fear of spending money, your mindset may be holding you back.

Why Mindset Matters

If you’re not willing to invest $1,000–$2,000 in your business for a potential 6x return, ask yourself: what are you willing to spend to grow? Fear of spending money or taking action is often what keeps business owners from moving to the next level.

Successful junk removal businesses didn’t reach six figures—or seven—without taking calculated risks. Every high-performing owner has invested either money or time to get there:

If you haven’t invested in these areas, your growth is likely limited by mindset, not opportunity.

Time vs. Money

Every business owner faces a tradeoff between time and money. Time is limited. Money, when invested wisely, can speed up growth and free up time to focus on other aspects of your business. Avoiding investment because of fear often means slower progress and missed opportunities.

Overcoming Fear

If you truly believe in a strategy that can help your business grow, don’t let fear stop you. Taking a calculated leap—whether it’s investing in marketing, coaching, or operational improvements—can have a significant impact.

Even if it doesn’t pay off immediately, at worst, you break even. Most often, it will generate more revenue than you spent. Staying stagnant, however, guarantees your business won’t move forward.

Here’s the mindset shift you need:

The difference between businesses that stagnate and those that grow is the willingness to act despite fear. If you hesitate too long, someone else in your area will take those risks, seize the opportunity, and grow faster than you.
